This is an eBook I wrote for TheDailyMind.com in 2016 about how one can practice mindfulness in everyday life by doing random acts of kindness. TheDailyMind is one of the projects that I hold close to my heart as it allowed me to explore the intersection of mental wellness and actionable practices—creating content that genuinely helps people live more mindful, connected lives.

Mindfulness in Action: Everyday Acts of Kindness That Will Change Your Life
“Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind.” – Henry James
What I learned about kindness, I learned from my mother. I learned that kindness is not an abstract idea that spiritual people merely talk about.
My mother was one of the most spiritual people I know, but spirituality wasn’t a mere concept for her. She turned principles into action, and being kind to others stood out the most.
When the less fortunate in our community had no food for dinner, she would give what she could, even if she didn’t have much. On Christmas Day, she would hold a simply party for the poor kids.
She passed away due to cancer in November 2014. Up to the very end, she acted kindly. On her birthday, she felt sorry for the night shift nurses and asked us to buy pizza for them.
She was, no doubt, a special case. We can’t all go to such lengths to show kindness.
It seems so impractical – even impossible! In this busy world, the norm is quickly becoming a “me and mine first” attitude.
One can hardly be blamed for this. We face tough economic times. We live fast-paced lives with barely any free time. There simply is too much to do for ourselves – and our families – that we don’t have the luxury of purposefully thinking about showing kindness to others.
That is what I’d like to address with this book. I want to help others – myself included – remember that there are many ways you can show kindness to everyone around you. It may be the tiniest act, or it could be a major one – it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you mindfully spread kindness to those around you.
In this book, you’ll find specific acts of kindness you can do everyday, in different circumstances. Acts of kindness so simple yet will change lives of those around you, as well as yours.
